Softpedia's BIOS of the Day 03/01/2012 | Technology News

Well, here we are, starting the third month of 2012 with a nice BIOS pick list whose highlight is the Asus Eee PC X101CH netbook, one of the newest additions in the Eee series, a tool for all those in search of small, ultra-portable computers.

The Asus Eee PC X101CH is powered by an Intel Atom N2600 dual-core 1.6GHz CPU and can run with up to 2 GB DDR3. Owners get HDMI and VGA connectors, as well as the standard SD/ SDHC/ MMC card reader, only 2 USB 2.0 ports (no USB 3.0, sorry).

Aside from the fact that the X101CH is a new netbook in Asus' ranks, it does not boast spectacular features, in case you were expecting something out of the ordinary. And if we add the rather modest 3-cell battery giving you a max of 5 hours of life... we're already looking at a common netbook, no matter how new it might be.

Here's spring's first BIOS of the Day:

Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H (rev. 1.3) Bios F11
Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H (rev. 1.3) Bios F12A Beta
Asus Eee PC X101CH Netbook BIOS 0501 for Windows 7 x32
Acer Extensa 4220 Notebook BIOS 1.33
HP G72-b49WM Notebook BIOS F.48 for Windows 7
Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E125 BIOS 1.16 for XP/Windows 7

As both hardware and software evolve, old BIOSes might become unstable or simply prevent you from using your computer to its full potential.

Therefore, it is highly recommended to always use the most recent BIOS version available. Do not forget to check with our site as often as possible in order to stay updated on the latest BIOS files
